The images below are documentation of performances I did in my studio. They were influenced by my past work in theater, dance, mime, and movement back in my late teens and early twenties. Performance can be seen in many of my pieces such as “Limits, Isolation, Removal, and Insulation," sculpture and video installation (1981) as shown on this site. Using my body, some props, lights, a scrim, camera, and a computer, I created these images. They were then simply projected on a wall for a studio perfomance, then later printed on rag paper dipped in beeswax and hand-rubbed to create a rich surface with depth. I would then go on to mount these an inch from a vertical surface in groups with curling eges of the rag paper creating a photographic wax-like object which you can see at the bottom of this page from a 2013 installation at The Goat Farm in Atlanta GA.
